Fa Mulan is the protagonist of the 1998 Disney animated film Mulan and its direct-to-video sequel Mulan II. She is inspired by the legendary Hua Mulan from the China Chinese poem The Ballad of Mulan. In the original film, Mulan is only sixteen years of age, and as the action of the second film takes place one month on, is also likely to still be of that age. She is voiced by Ming-Na in both titles and her singing voice is provided by Lea Salonga. Mulan is the only East Asian Disney Princess.
